About Dawnae
I am an experienced educator of 10 years and counting with a dedicated passion for children's access to quality educational experiences and settings before the age of 5. Owning and operating Devyne Scholar Academy (DSA) has been a dream and life goal of mine. After the birth of my daughter in 2021, I experienced the challenge many parents of today face, trying to figure out how to pay for cost of living and a quality educational experience for their child(ren). After a few months of trying to figure it out, I decided it was time to turn my dream and life goal into a daily reality. I decided I wanted to offer an affordable quality early education licensed setting for other parents and their children. I am looking forward to the opportunity and possibility to impact your child(ren)'s most important years.
My Mission
I believe that all children are special and unique individuals who learn from their experiences. Believing this, I will provide a safe, loving environment that will support your child’s physical, intellectual, and social/emotional needs. As
your child’s childcare provider, I am committed to work very closely with you to ensure that your child gains the most from my childcare environment. When you, as a parent and I, as the caregiver, work together, your child will feel that the important people around them care, and they will become more interested in being a part of childcare. I promise to keep you aware of all new things your child is doing and/or learning. If we can share this information, your child will benefit from the exchange.
My Philosophy
At DSA your child has a home away from home. We are committed to providing high-quality care and educational experiences that support your child's growth and development. At DSA, we are a community for creative and independent thinkers as we believe every child is the leader of their own learning. We are dedicated to creating a play based environment that is safe, healthy and affordable. My philosophy is that children are capable of leading their own learning through play and guided instruction. I have a background in Montessori and Reggio inspired teaching philosophies. At DSA, I inform instruction and curriculum with a blended approach from Montessori & Reggio philosophies and a curriculum designed for family child care homes called, Ghee Whiz Education. Ghee Whiz Education is founded on the latest ECE research and state/national standards, includes hands-on experiences for all ages for infants through school-age. Ghee Whiz aligns with Colorado Early Learning & Development Guidelines which focuses on the following developmental areas:
